Paragon appoints new Manchester chief

PARAGON Building Consultancy has boosted its Manchester team following the appointment of Peter McIlhagger as its new director of projects.

He joins from Mace where he had previously worked for the last 12 years.

McIlhagger – who has worked on a number of high profile projects including ITV Coronation Street, Islingthon Wharf, Crosby’s Green Quarter and First Street – will be leading Paragon’s regional project management team and will work closely with Paragon’s London projects team to deliver expertise for key clients and major projects nationwide.

The independent building and project consultancy, which has its head office in London, established the Manchester office in May this year and has a growing portfolio of both existing and projected work.

Paragon managing director John Munday said: “It has been less than three months since we opened in Manchester – our first regional office outside of London – and we have been incredibly busy with projects from both existing clients and new ones.  Peter’s appointment is part of ongoing strategy and he will play an integral role in the continued growth of the company.”

McIlhagger added: “Paragon is a strong emerging business and in a position not dissimilar to the one that Mace was in when I joined there as a Project Manager.  I am excited to be part of a team
