Training company expands into Manchester

APPRENTICESHIP provider W Academy & Education has expanded into Manchester city centre.

The Sheffield-based business established in 2012 delivers training courses across areas including customer services, business administration and hospitality and catering.

W Academy & Education recorded turnover of £1.4m in the year ending April 2015 and is aiming to double it.

The company supports 1,000 young people at any one time and has grown to a workforce of 60 staff, with plans to embark on a recruitment drive that would help grow its presence across the region.

Chief executive Marc Wildes, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for W Academy to officially establish a presence in the Greater Manchester area, where we already know there is significant demand for our services.

“Whilst we have been operating locally for a couple of years now – largely dictated by the needs of businesses and learners who approached us as a result of word of mouth – we felt that the time had come to find our own office space which, in turn, will allow us to grow our team in official W surroundings.”
