Broadcast garden centre moves banking facilities

A GARDEN centre used by BBC radio crews for gardening broadcasts has switched its banking facilities to NatWest as part of its growth strategy.

Daisy Nook Garden Centre, in Failsworth near Manchester, started its life back in 1972 and is set against the backdrop of Medlock Hall which dates back to 1316.

The centre employs 28 people and is managed by joint managing directors Andrew Calder and Mark Llewellin who joined the business three years ago.

Llewellin said: “Over the last couple of years we have been focused on making the centre the number one garden centre in the area and a community hub. In addition to selling garden supplies we hold events on the site, have children’s activities and even theatre productions.

“We have also focused on developing the site as a day-trip destination and have had visitors from across the globe.”

Bosses decided to move banking facilities to NatWest believing the bank and relationship manager Suzanne Unsworth could best support their business growth aspirations.

Unsworth said: “I look forward to developing our relationship further and supporting the management team’s business aspirations for the future.”
