AO World ‘making progress’

ONLINE domestic appliance retailer AO World has continued to see strong growth over the summer months.

In a brief update the Bolton company said it expects sales in the three months to the end of September to have risen 20% to 21%, driven by growth in AO.com sales of over 30%.

AO, which sells everything from widescreen TVs to fridge freezers, washing machines and fridge freezers, said: “the long term strategic progress of the business is on-track.” with progress in its home market and also Germany.

The business said it was hosting analysts and investors at its head office and national distribution centre in Crewe today.
 
AO, which will publish half years results on November 24, said: “We have accelerated our investment in the AO.com brand over the quarter through tv advertising and other media, which is essential to the long term future of the business as well as growing revenue in the near-term.

“Progress in Germany remains in line with plan and AO World continues to be encouraged by the development of the business. Following an initial television advertising campaign in Germany during July, the company has invested in further campaigns in August and September and expects to incorporate such campaigns into its operating model going forward.”
