Chorley states its case with investment showcase

A CAMPAIGN to showcase Chorley as a great business location is heading to Manchester next week

Led by the House of Commons Deputy Speaker and Chorley MP Lindsay Hoyle and council leader Cllr Alistair Bradley, the Chorley New City Gateway seminar is taking place at the Bridgewater Hall in the city centre on October 16.
 
Free to attend, the seminar will feature presentations on the many excellent opportunities available in Chorley for developers, investors and companies wishing to expand. Click here to reserve your place.

These include: the 49-acre site at Botany Bay at Junction 8 of the M61; Digital Health Village, a 32-acre propositon at Exton Lane linked to Lancaster University’s clinical research facilities; Evander Property’s Revolution Park distribution centre at Buckshaw Village and Orbit Development’s proposed new office scheme totalling 131,500 sq ft, also at Buckshaw Village.

Cllr Bradley said: “We are looking forward to the event, the council has made economic development one of its main priorities and has a team in pakce to make sure companies and developers interested or relocating to Chorley get all the support they need.

“We have a track record in delivering a range of prestigious redevelopment projects such as Buckshaw Village, one of the largest mixed-used schemes to be undertaken in the North West. Further exciting development sites are shortly to come to fruition as we enter a new phase of growth in our employment sites.”

The council’s economic development team will also be able to talk about the practical support available to businesses in the area. Chorley investment

One recent example is Utiligroup, pictured, a fast-growing energy sector software provider, which has just moved into new premises at at Chorley Business & Technology Centre.

Utiligroup, which has grown its team by nearly 70%, from 85 to 142 since last year,  received support from a dedicated  council business advisor, support from a Chorley Business Investment for Growth Grant and financial support for IT software training too.
