ADVANCE breaks £50m turnover barrier

WORKFORCE management specialist ADVANCE is eyeing further growth after revenues increased by nearly a fifth to a record £52m.

The Chester-based company, which supports freelancers, contractors and recruitment firms, has now achieved five consecutive years of growth since its launch in 2010.

Turnover for the year ending March 2015 was up 18% year-on-year from £44.1m. ADVANCE is targeting sales of at least £70m for the current financial year.

Founder and joint managing director Tim Hunt attributed the company’s growth to a “significant increase” in recruitment agency client numbers, coupled with diversification into new areas.

He said: “These results are testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire ADVANCE team over the past five years.

“One major success story of recent times has been the dramatic increase in demand for our accountancy services from contractors and freelancers who run their own limited company.

“This is something we’ll be looking to build on further in the coming months and years on the back of some unique features developed by ADVANCE for this sector.

“As a business we are constantly looking to enhance and broaden our service offering, and have plenty of exciting projects in the pipeline that will help us continue to grow.”

ADVANCE has supported nearly 15,000 contractors and freelancers and is the only provider to have passed Freelancer & Contractor Services Association (FCSA) audits for limited company, umbrella company and self-employment solutions.

The company recently completed a five-figure refurbishment of its premises and now employs more than 40 head-office staff.

Earlier this month it launched a new website, www.advance.online, as part of a wide-ranging investment in sales and marketing.

Joint managing director Shaun Critchley said: “As a management team we feel the business is in extremely good shape, with solid foundations and plenty of scope for further growth.

“We’re looking to the future with ambition and confidence, and are determined to fulfil our potential.

“A major focus for the next 12 months will be to identify and embrace smarter ways of working as we seek to provide a truly world-class service at all times.”
