O’Neill to address China infrastructure forum

COMMERCIAL Secretary to the Treasury Lord Jim O’Neill and Lord Nat Wei, non executive director of Manchester China Forum, will speak at the UK-China Infrastructure Forum in Manchester on Friday.

The Northern Powerhouse Transport & Regeneration Investment Forum forms part of a series of business events timed to co-incide with China President Xi Jinping’s visit.

It has been developed by UKTI in close partnership with the China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), who will be in attendance with a significant number of Chinese developer and investor groups.

The event is also supported by MIDAS and Manchester China Forum, both of which are part of Manchester Growth Company, and China-Britain Business Council.

It will take place at the Midland Hotel where city leaders from Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield will also showcase infrastructure and regeneration investment opportunities across the Northern Powerhouse.

Last month Chancellor George Osborne launched the Northern Powerhouse Pitchbook in China.
