HE Simm expands into Warrington

BUILDING services provider HE Simm is expanding its presence in the North of England with the launch of a Warrington office.

The mechanical, electrical and public health (MEPH) engineering system specialist will operate a number of teams out of the new office, based on the Birchwood Business Park.

The office will support its growing key client base in Manchester and support HE Simm’s ambitious growth strategy in Manchester, the North West and across the UK.

HE Simm’s head office is in Liverpool and the business also has premises in London.

The family-owned firm was established in 1948 and has developed into one of the country’s most high profile MEPH companies, working with a key client base of blue chip construction companies to deliver multi-million pound projects throughout the UK.

It has experienced significant growth in recent years and has established a strong portfolio of work across the North of England.

In its last financial year HE Simm achieved a turnover of £65m. This figure is forecast to reach £77m in 2016.

The firm will be recruiting a number of new employees for the Warrington office.  Several HE Simm departments will operate from the office including procurement, design, estimating, operations and work-winning.  The teams will work across all of the firm’s sectors.

HE Simm has appointed its new operations director, David Went, to head-up the Warrington office.

He has more than 35 years of experience in the building services industry. He has worked in a broad variety of sectors, including residential, health, education, leisure and infrastructure, and was project leader for the £50m M&E contract on the “West of Paradise Street Project” in Liverpool ONE.

Went has also worked extensively overseas and was formally building services director and building services manager for Al Fultaim Carillion in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

HE Simm managing director Gareth Simm said: “Our Warrington teams will help us to support and grow our presence in the North of England. Under David Went’s highly-experienced leadership they will engage with key clients and the supply chain to create long-term, sustainable relationships.”

Went added: “This new office will not only bring us closer to our existing Manchester client base but will also enable us to develop our portfolio in this part of the North further. We very much look forward to bringing our forward-thinking, innovative and passionate approach to a wider spread of clients in the region.”
