Profits sparkle for jeweller Beaverbrooks
BEAVERBROOKS, the family-owned jewellery retailer has reporting dazzling sales and profit figures.
The Lancashire-based company, which trades from 67 shops and through its website, saw sales fly through the £100m mark in the year to the end of February.
Revenues rose 13% from £99.8m to £113.7m, as a bottom-line loss of £978,000 was more than wiped out with a £9.6m profit this time.
The St Annes-on-Sea-based company, which is still owned by the founding Adlestone family, gives 20% of profits to good causes every year and routinely features in lists of the best companies to work for.
Chairman Mark Adlestone told TheBusinessDesk the group had had a “very good year”, and said the current year would see further growth.
“We certainly saw a more confident consumer, which was a factor, but we also saw the benefits of some investments on the multi-channel side of the business.
“We’ve invested in bringing in new digital skills and that has helped deliever some significant sales increases online.”
