A VIP group, joined by local journalists, then enjoyed a whistle-stop tour of Rotterdam to sample what the city, popularly known as ‘the Gateway to World’, has to offer.

Hodder said: “Flybe is delighted to offer this new double daily service to Rotterdam The Hague from our Manchester hub.

“We are really pleased by the customer response to our conveniently timed flights that offer time-saving travel between these two key European cities. We are not only seeing bookings from those obviously travelling for business but weekend travel is also proving extremely popular, with our first Friday flight filling up fast.

“It bodes well for the future as we seek to offer our Manchester customers an even wider choice of flights from their local airport and also as we establish a presence at Rotterdam the
Hague.”

Turner said: “This new service will offer the 22 million people in our catchment area direct links to a fantastic city that offers passengers a wealth of attractions to visit as well as access to its thriving business district and the nearby city of The Hague.”
