Redrow in full swing with golf course deal

REDROW, the Deeside-based housebuilder founded by Cheshire-based, Liverpool-born businessman Steve Morgan is to build 1,100 new homes on a former golf course in Staffordshire.

It has acquired the 148-acre former golf course in Amington near Tamworth from the town’s borough council and already has outline planning consent for a housing scheme.

The course, close to Redrow’s regional HQ in Kinsall Green, closed in October 2014.

Redrow has committed to invest £14m in the local area including contributions towards the cost of building a primary school.

A planning application for the first phase of building is due to be submitted in the next few weeks with the aim of starting work in the autumn.
