Female legal networking group coming North

THE Female Fraud Forum is set to launch in Manchester this week, with its first ever event outside London.

The professional networking group is expanding its reach to the North West, thanks to its new regional organiser Victoria Thompson of Lancashire’s Vincents Solicitors.

The forum is aimed at women in the legal and financial industries who work in financial regulation and the criminal and civil fraud sector.

Its dual aims are to provide informative events that support the careers of professionals in the sector, and to offer socialising and networking opportunities.

Although aimed at women, membership is available to anyone within the sector and events are open to anyone who wants to attend. The launch event is an informal mixer, which is being held at Lincoln House Chambers, Tower 12, Spinningfields at 6pm on Thursday February 18.

The forum is being brought to the North West by crime lawyer Thompson, a recent arrival at Vincents Solicitors in Preston, who specialises in white collar crime and fraud cases.

Thompaon was an active member of the forum in London and benefitted from the opportunities it offered. She hopes the launch of the forum in the North West will provide similar benefits for women in this region.

She said: “Fraud is such a complex area in which to work, and the legislative landscape is almost constantly changing, so keeping on top of the latest position is vital.

“The forum makes sure its members are up-to-date on legal and regulatory changes, and provides a great place for female professionals to discuss the issues and learn from each other.”
