Site earmarked for industrial development after acquisition

A FORMER power station site on the Wirral owned by the Homes and Communities Agency has been bought by Redsum Developments.

Planning approval has been granted for an industrial scheme of about 90,000sq ft spread across up to seven units at the five-acre site on Thermal Road, Bromborough within Wirral International Business Park.

A procurement process is underway for a main contractor to construct the development, which is expected to start in the coming months.

Redsun has completed more than 250,000sqft of new build BREEAM Excellent commercial floorspace in Bromborough in recent years and is currently on site with its Turbine Business Park development four miles along the A41 in Birkenhead.

Redsun managing director Craig Booton said: “This is the best undeveloped site remaining at Wirral International Business Park and a site we’ve been working on for some time now.

“Wirral is a market we know very well. Everything we’ve developed in this area has been occupied within 3 months of completion, so we know there is a strong demand from the occupier market in this location.”
