Wanderers clear £2.2m tax debt

BOLTON Wanderers Football Club has cleared its £2.2m debt to Revenue and Customs.

The Championship’s basement club – bought former striker Dean Holdsworth’s Sports Shield consortium and Ken Anderson’s Inner Circle from previous owner Eddie Davies, cleared the outstanding debt on Friday.

HMRC has now closed its High Court winding up petition against the club.

Wanderers are 12 points from safety following a 6-0 hammering at the hands of relegation rivals Bristol City on Saturday.
