Pile-up forces M-way lane closure ahead of Easter break

A MULTI-vehicle collision on the M6 in Staffordshire has caused the closure of one lane of southbound motorway between junctions 16 (Crewe) and 15 (Stoke).

The accident happened as motorists pushed for an early getaway for the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.

Drivers who had not yet set off on their journey south were advised to seek alternative routes.

Meanwhile, there is further disruption on the M6 in North Lancashire with the third lane of the northbound carriageway between junctions 36 and 37 closed.
