People: Norcros; Bark&Bite; Kuits & more

LISTED bathroom specialist Norcros has announced the appointment of Shaun Smith to its board as group finance director from today (April 4).

This follows the announcement in November of the intended resignation of Martin Payne, who will step down from the role, but continue as a director of Norcros plc until May 12 to ensure a smooth handover.

Smith was previously group finance director at Aga Rangemaster Group plc (formerly Glynwed International Plc) from 2001, up until its recent takeover.
 
He began his career in retail management and corporate treasury at Marks and Spencer  before joining Glynwed International in 1989, becoming Group Treasurer in 1999.

Nick Kelsall, group chief executive, said: “I am delighted to welcome Shaun to Norcros and look forward to the contribution of someone of his high calibre and deep experience as we continue to drive the business forward.

“I would also like to thank Martin for his valued contribution over the last five years and wish him success in his new role.”

CREATIVE studio, Bark&Bite has announced a new senior appointment as the company expands its operations in Leeds and Manchester with Belinda Allen taking the role of head of production.

She will be Leeds-based with regular trips to Manchester and will be responsible for leading production on all TV commercials and content over both locations.

Allen has over 25 years of industry experience working across digital, broadcast and cinema. Although London-based, her career has taken her to Sydney, New York and Slovenia and includes managing independent films to creating a 15 strong production department from scratch.

MANCHESTER-based commercial law firm Kuits has bolstered its banking and real estate finance team with the appointment of Alexander Dickinson as a solicitor.

Dickinson joins the team from Abacus Solicitors, where he trained and worked as a newly-qualified solicitor, after experience gained as a paralegal at DLA Piper and Pinsent Masons.

George MacMillan, partner and head of Kuits’ banking and real estate finance team, said: “Kuits has been retained on the legal panels of several major banks, despite many making multiple reductions in their panel sizes over the years.

“As such, it’s important that we expand the team at all levels in order that we can continue our commitment to providing our clients with the highest levels of service.

“Alexander joins us at an exciting time and we are delighted to welcome him to our team.”

JON Rouse has been appointed as chief officer of the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership – the body overseeing devolution of health and social care in Greater Manchester.

Working closely with senior health, social care and council leaders from across the region, Rouse will oversee a new era for Greater Manchester, as it took charge of a £6bn health and social care budget from Friday (April 1).

The appointment follows a unique agreement in February 2015 to create a united, single leadership for health and social care across Greater Manchester – to ensure the greatest and fastest possible improvement to the health and wellbeing of the 2.8 million residents.
