Rapid growth for year-old accountancy firm

AN accountancy service aimed at contractors and freelancers has ambitious growth plans a year on from its launch.

Bolton-headquartered Gorilla Accounting, which aims to provide a ‘simple, slick and non-baffling’ accountancy service, allows its customers  to access cloud accounting software through a variety of devices. In addition, they are allocated a dedicated accountant and guaranteed a same-day response to their queries.

Launched just over a year ago, the company has accrued more than 300 clients.
Managing director Dan Fallows told TheBusinessDesk he puts the rapid growth down to the fact that Gorilla’s offering is “attractive and refreshing”.

The company has an aggressive growth strategy and Fallows expects it to have grown to around 1,000 clients by December 2016.

It employs 10 staff, having just taken on three new staff within the past five weeks. Adele Ryan has joined as head of business development; Arif Patel  as a contractor accountant;  and Isaac Williams has also joined as a contractor accountant.

Fallows said: “Gorilla continues to grow at a fast rate on the back of the rising number of people operating as self-employed contractors and freelancers.

“The business is unique in that we offer a cloud driven technology for our clients but equally a personal accountancy service, clients can run their company without interacting with us equally if they ring the office number they can speak to an accountant straight away.”

He added that contractors from the engineering, IT, project management, locums, media and creative sectors in particular are signing up to use its services.

The company affiliated with Seneca Group, which already provides corporate finance, investment and interest rate swap claims.
