Law firm acquires practice in neighbouring town

BOLTON law firm KBL has taken over Blackburn legal practice Garricks LLP and itself become a limited liability practice.

The move will bolster KBL LLP’s commercial offering with the arrival of Greg Gardner-Boyes who will now divide his time between the Bolton Mawdsley Street offices and Cunningham Court, Blackburn, where Garricks was based.

Gardner-Boyes has a wealth of experience and a strong commercial background and will make the practice one of the largest commercial litigation teams outside the centre of Manchester.

Michael Slater, partner and head of commercial litigation at KBL says “The merger is a great opportunity for both firms and our clients alike.

“There is an excellent fit between the two firms, our shared ethos and values mean that together we can provide strong continuity of no-nonsense professional advice for Garricks’ clients and we will continue to deliver the first class service for which we are renowned.

“Our office is based in the heart of Bolton and we look forward to welcoming Greg’s clients to the firm. We have an established regional presence and given the commercial expertise that we already have, it is the natural place for Greg and his clients to be.”

Gardner-Boyes said: “I have worked with KBL on several occasions over the last few years. When Michael and I spoke about commercial legal practices it became clear that I shared his and his Partners values and ethos. I am certain my clients will enjoy the same level of service and importantly expertise they’ve enjoyed whilst working with Garricks.”

Founded in the 1970s, KBL is a Legal 500 recommended law firm with an extensive range of corporate and individual clients throughout the North West.

The Bolton based practice houses dedicated specialist teams offering legal advice to both commercial and private clients in property, litigation, employment, corporate & commercial, family law, personal injury and wills & probate.
