Developer out to deliver £200m of schemes in city

FORTIS Developments, which claims to be one of the UK’s fastest growing companies in its sector, is set to double its presence in Greater Manchester – taking the total value of schemes to more than £200m.

The Altrincham, Greater Manchester-based company, which is currently developing 866 apartments in Salford, is committed to increasing the number of units under construction to more than 2,000 by this time next year.

It says it is planning a series of high-quality developments which will make it a leading force in the regeneration of Salford, an area it believes is one of the North’s most exciting locations.

Fortis’ current schemes – which have a total value of over £100m –  are the award-winning Adelphi Wharf development – within walking distance of Manchester city centre and features a roof-top garden and ‘chameleon’ cladding; Bridgewater Point, an ultramodern development with on-site gym on Ordsall Lane; and Bridgewater Gate in Woden Street, an eight-storey block with retail units on the ground floor.

Adelphi Wharf has just been named as the Best Urban Living Development at the international iProperty Best Development Awards.

Established in 2012, Fortis focuses on brownfield schemes which can act as a catalyst for regeneration while providing luxury accommodation.

The company has delivered more than 1,600 units since its inception.

Kieran Moore, director at Fortis Developments, said: “Our growth plans highlight our confidence in our offering and in the Manchester and Salford market. These twin cities will have a central role in the Northern Powerhouse and increased investment in infrastructure, along with a growing private sector, will ensure strong demand for quality housing.

“High quality developments are key to driving the further regeneration of Salford and are in line with demand from our clients, many of whom are buy-to-let investors looking for reliability, quality and potential within a scheme.

“Our new developments will be landmark schemes which reinforce our track record for high quality design and materials, and the creation of landscaped outdoor spaces – such as the riverbank at Adelphi Wharf – will offer a wider benefit to the community and the area as a whole.”
