The Rainmaker Awards 2016 will celebrate corporate finance success

THE region’s only community-led corporate finance awards programme, The Rainmaker Awards, will be held on June 30.

Brought to you by TheBusinessDesk and Out There Events, The Rainmaker Awards are now in their third year and will again be held at the Hilton Hotel in Manchester.

Set up to recognise the skill, enterprise, achievement, innovation and excellence of the North West’s corporate finance community, the Rainmaker Awards are different.

Unlike other awards programmes, the shortlisted transactions in the year to March 31, will be picked by an extensive panel from the corporate finance community. Team category shortlists will be drawn up by TheBusinessDesk, after extensive research using Experian CorpFin data.

Firms from across the region will then vote online for all of the category shortlists, with only one vote per category from each firm, to pick all the evening’s winners.

Joanne Birtwistle, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com: said: “We are looking forward to  once again hosting The Rainmakers Awards and building on the success of the last two years.

“The last 12 months have seen another active period for the region’s corporate financiers and private equity investors, and I look forward to seeing which deals are shortlisted by the community and ultimately chosen as winners.”

This year sees the introduction of two new categories – recognising a young Rising Star in the community and the Small Cap Deal of the Year.

Marcie Incarico, owner of Out There Events, said: “Out There Events is delighted to be partnering the BusinessDesk.com on this prestigious event. The Rainmaker Awards is now firmly established as a must-attend event for the professional and deal making community. This event recognises excellence with winners voted for by their peer group and we look forward to celebrating these exceptional teams and deals.”

Deals information will be sourced from Experian CorpFin and TheBusinessDesk’s records of corporate activity, but we also welcome submissions from individual firms. Please email deal details for the year to March 31 to joanne.birtwistle@thebusinessdesk.com by April 21.

There are still opportunities for businesses to get involved as sponsors and supporters.
