Manchester United extends Swiss bank partnership

MANCHESTER United’s official Forex and online financial trading partner Swissquote is extending its global partnership with the club.

The partnership, first announced in January last year, has proved so successful  that Swissquote has not only extended the duration of its multi-year agreement, but also expanded its rights. Financial terms were not disclosed.

From next season, the company will  be visible during Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup matchdays, including appearances on the club’s digital perimeter boards and post-match interview backdrops.

Swissquote customers who are Manchester United fans will have the chance to win hospitality tickets, to go behind-the-scenes and watch the team train at the Aon Training Complex, to accompany the squad on European trips and other experiences.

Swissquote is Switzerland’s principal online bank and employs more than 500 people across seven offices in Switzerland, UK, Dubai, Hong Kong and Malta and its headquarters in Gland.  Its trading room is connected to over 60 stock markets in over 40 countries.

Swissquote designed a special ‘Forex Four’ challenge for United players Daley Blind, Michael Carrick, Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Chris Smalling.

Swissquote brought a giant ‘Forex Four’ board to the Aon Training Complex, putting the players head to head against one another, testing their precision and passing skills – watch the videos of the challenge here: www.swissquote.com/manutd.

Manchester United’s group managing director Richard Arnold said: “In a short space of time we have already achieved a lot together, thanks in no small part to what we have in common; always looking to innovate and be industry leaders.

“We have recently secured some new and exciting partnerships, however it is equally important for our long-term success that we enhance our relationship with existing partners. In this case, Swissquote understands the true value of working with us, having had first-hand experience of what the partnership can achieve.”

Swissquote chief executive Marc Burki said: “The new deal reflects the ongoing success in the development of our global brand, particularly in our key markets such as the Middle-East and Asia.

“So far our partnership has seen us offer fans engaging content with their favourite United stars, highlighting the parallels between the worlds of football and Forex trading. We are looking forward to working even closer with the Club who share our values of passion, integrity, teamwork and an unwavering commitment to excellence.”
