Pret set for take off at airport

PRET A Manger is getting ready for take-off at Manchester Airport, with a new airside shop scheduled to open in Terminal One on Friday.

The outlet – Pret’s 10th UK airport shop – will offer a comfortable seating space for 80 customers and a large menu of organic coffee and handmade natural food.

Options include Pret’s new range of fresh spring salads, sandwiches and wraps, as well as breakfast options including Pret’s new Dairy-Free Bircher and Acai Breakfast Bowl. All fresh menu items are handmade by the Pret team in the shop’s own on-site kitchen.

The new opening has created more than 20 jobs, including roles for baristas, hot food chefs and front-of-house team members.

Marc Denial, manager of the new Manchester Airport outlet has been working in Pret’s Manchester shops for a number of years. He said, “Opening our first shop in Manchester Airport is very exciting for us.  We already have fantastic shops in many of the UK’s other major airports, and are thrilled to be expanding this offering further.

“The team is ready to go and we’re looking forward to sending our new airport customers off on their journeys with some delicious handmade food, full of fresh, natural ingredients!”

Ben Green, head of retail – Food & Beverage at Manchester Airports Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Pret A Manger to Manchester Airport’s Terminal One. I am sure our 23.5m annual passengers will welcome the additional choice and quality offering from this well-known brand.

“Furthermore the addition of this store will add to the passenger experience here at Manchester Airport, where we always put the customer at the centre of everything we do.”

Manchester Airport is Pret’s ninth shop in the area and follows a successful opening in Manchester’s MediaCityUK last November, and refurbishment of its Spinningfields shop at the beginning of this year.
