Campsite on market for £1.2m

A TOURING and camping site in Cumbria is up for grabs for an asking price of £1.2m.

The specialist parks division of real estate adviser Colliers International is marketing Lanefoot Farm in Keswick.

The 4.8-acre campsite at Thornthwaite in the heart of the Lake District National Park boasts 12 touring and 40 camping pitches, three camping pods, a shepherd’s hut, vintage caravan and site shop.

It also features a four-bedroom owner’s farmhouse with a one-bed letting holiday apartment and outbuildings.

Colliers International is offering the business for sale on behalf of the current private owners who have operated the site for more than 10 years, developing it from scratch into the successful enterprise being offered for sale.

Lanefoot has spectacular views of the Lake District while being situated just off the A66 near Keswick and is popular with holidaymakers wanting to visit Keswick and the North Lakes, Ullswater, Eden Valley and Hadrian’s Wall.

Robert Smithson, surveyor with UK parks agency at Colliers International, said: “Lanefoot Farm provides an excellent opportunity to acquire an already successful lifestyle business in one of the most popular tourist destinations in the UK.

“The property comes with an ideal family home and the potential to develop further with additional planning consents in place.”
