Marine firm takes space on the Wirral

STAR International Marine and Offshore Services has let Unit 2 at Turbine Business Park, Birkenhead on the Wirral.

The announcement comes after District Estates acquired the 16,000sq ft scheme following practical completion in December 2015.

Star International will re-locate from Sandycroft in North Wales to the new unit following the completion of the company’s own fit out works.

Ian Davies, investment director at District Estates, said: “We decided to purchase the unit on a speculative basis because of the quality of the development undertaken by Redsun Developments and the identified need for high quality, industrial floor space on the Wirral peninsular.

“Securing a tenant within four months of completing the acquisition of the scheme further underlines the strength in occupier demand for this calibre of development.”

Jeff Antley, managing director at Star International Limited, said: “These new premises will allow us to further expand our business in the Marine Support and Supplies sector. The proximity of the unit to the marine industry on the Wirral Peninsular is a natural fit for our company.”
