Construction consultancy turns 70 and moves into new waterfront home

CONSTRUCTION consultancy practice Todd & Ledson has moved into a new Liverpool waterfront home in a year in which it celebrates its 70th anniversary after taking office space at Peel-owned Princes Dock, Liverpool Waters.

The company, previously based in the Martin’s Bank building in Water Street, with offices in London and Manchester, has signed a seven-year lease for 3,200 q ft of office accommodation at No. 8 Princes Dock.

Todd & Ledson was established in 1946 in Liverpool as a Quantity Surveying practice. During the last 70 years the company has developed into a consultancy providing, amongst other services, project management, employer’s agent, cost consultancy and development appraisals to all sectors of the construction industry on a national basis.

Philip Waring, partner, said: “With a new future on the horizon for Martin’s Bank building we decided it was time for a complete change and move to new modern offices.

“We looked around the city’s office market and loved the space that Peel offered us. Princes Dock is a cracking location and has fantastic views of the river and the Liverpool waterfront.”

Todd & Ledson’s projects in the Liverpool City Region include the national award-winning Aloft hotel, Sefton Water Centre, the Walton Centre and several projects for Grosvenor, Merseytravel and the University of Liverpool. They have recently expanded their staff in the city to 27.

Liza Marco, asset manager at Peel, said: “Todd & Ledson have a national reputation for delivering excellent construction services and we are delighted to welcome them to Princes Dock. They join some other businesses well established in the city including Bibby Financial Services, KPMG, Savills and PwC.”

Princes Dock is a hub of business activity set in 14.5 hectares within the £5bn Liverpool Waters redevelopment scheme on Liverpool waterfront.  It is located adjacent to the Liver Building alongside the cruise liner facility and the Leeds and Liverpool canal extension passes alongside.
