Living Ventures gives open invitation to Tim Bacon memorial

A MEMORIAL and celebration is to be held in honour of the man who changed the face  of Manchester and Liverpool’s dining scene with his Living Ventures brand.

Bar and restaurant entrepreneur Tim Bacon died earlier this month, following a 16-year battle with cancer.

His hugely popular Living Ventures restaurants dominate Manchester – from The Alchemist, Artisan and Australasia to Manchester House, The Grill on The Alley and Gusto.

In honour of the great man, the company is to hold a celebration of his life at The Albert Hall in Manchester on Monday 16, May at 1pm – with an open invitation.

It has also set up a charity page to raise funds for The Christie, where Tim received treatment and for The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, where his nephew Jett Bacon, a pupil at Unsworth Primary School in Bury, lost his own battle against cancer in the very same week, aged 11.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Whether you were family, friend, colleague, supplier, customer or just someone who had the pleasure of encountering him, I’m sure you will agree, his charisma was infectious. His presence was awesome. His smile lit up even the darkest of days.

“Don’t be sad, Tim loved and lived life. He created livelihoods and brought us all together with a great deal of happiness as one big family. Each one of us now walks taller for knowing him. Feel free to come along and remember him with us.”
