New service aims to get women ‘fierce and fit’

A FEMALE focused fitness training service has launched in Manchester with an aim to get women from across the region fit and fierce.

Fierce Fit is Manchester’s first personal training service for women and run by women.

Fierce Fit is supporting women in achieving their fitness goals by taking a holistic approach to fitness by not being completely focussed on end results, but by improving their confidence through personal training.

The team offers a mixture of personal training, fitness classes and other health services.
Fitness classes include Fierce Intensity: a high intensity full body workout combining weights and body weight exercise, Fierce Body: a body weight workout with a no equipment no excuses approach and Fierce Squad: a full team circuit workout using accountability partners to achieve your fitness goals.

Jade Mottley from Performance For All co-founded Fierce Fit. She graduated from Bangor University with a degree in Sports Science in 2012 and has been working as a personal trainer since then.

She said: “Fierce Fit is the first programme of its kind in Manchester and we believe our approach to fitness will meet the needs of many women across the region.

“So often I have people come to me, show me a photo and say ‘I want to look like this’.

“Having a goal in mind is important but fitness needs to be more than an end result. I know there are barriers as to why some women don’t exercise including convenience, motivation and engagement, so we tailor our training to the individual and what she needs.”

The business officially launched earlier this spring.

In addition to Mottley, the team at Fierce Fit includes personal trainer Kat Heyes and other therapists, including physiotherapists and massage therapists.

To support her new business, Mottley enrolled on the Entrepreneurial Spark people accelerator programme based at NatWest’s offices in Hardman Boulevard, Manchester, and supported by KPMG and EMC.

Mottley said: “Joining Entrepreneurial Spark has given me the space I need to really focus on my vision for the business and what I want to achieve. I am surrounded by people who are doing different things but there is this great energy in the hub and you feel like you are a part of something bigger than your business.”
