People: Leigh Day; CBRE; Cube3 & more

THE Manchester based office of law firm Leigh Day has strengthened its clinical negligence department with the addition of solicitor Claire White, who joins from Slater and Gordon.

After studying law at Sheffield University, Claire completed her studies at the BPP Law School Manchester. She joined Pannone Solicitors in 2009, staying with the firm after its negligence teams became part of Australian firm Slater and Gordon in 2014.

She specialises in a wide range of medical negligence claims including orthopaedic, ophthalmic, delay in diagnosis, missed diagnosis, GP negligence and brain injury cases.

Leigh Day’s head of clinical negligence in Manchester, Stephen Jones, said “Claire will be a tremendous asset to Leigh Day and her appointment is further testament to Leigh Day’s intentions for growing its business in Manchester. Having worked with her before I know at first hand just what a talented and dedicated solicitor she is.”

THE Manchester office of CBRE has appointed Clare O’Loughlin as surveyor within its North West lease consultancy team.

She joins from The Co-Operative Group Estates where she was acquisitions surveyor.

O’Loughlin’s role at CBRE will involve working with the team in acting for both landlords and tenants with clients including funds, private landlords, retailers and occupiers.

Fiona Halliwell, director of the North West lease consultancy team, said: “Clare’s wealth of experience will further strengthen our service to our valued client base as the regional property market continues to flourish.”

O’Loughlin added; “Joining CBRE is a fantastic opportunity and I am looking forward to working alongside the team on CBRE’s huge and diverse client base.”

She joins the existing North West lease consultancy team which comprises Fiona Halliwell as director and Gillian Bamford and Rory O’Leary as associate directors.

RECENT investment and multiple new client wins have prompted Cube3, a Manchester-based creative, digital and marketing agency, to welcomed seven new members to its team.
 
Joining the creative team are Leanne Donaghy, Emma Levin, Tomas Manchester and Emily Cozens.

Donaghy, joins from The Accord Group and has more than five years of experience.
 
Cozens has arrived at the agency as account manager and brings more than four years’ experience having worked on brands including Robinsons Equestrian and Original Style.
 
Levin originally joined Cube3 as an intern in October 2015 after graduating from the University of Manchester with a Business Management degree. After demonstrating impressive skills on accounts including Rohan and Revolution, the senior management team asked her to join the team as a researcher to work alongside the strategy director, Nick Morgan.
 
Manchester, an English literature and creative writing graduate, also joined Cube3 as an intern. He has now been employed as a full time content executive and works across the agency’s biggest accounts.
 
Kam Cheng is the latest addition to the digital team and brings four years of experience to his new Paid Search and SEO specialist role.
 
Looking after the operational side of the business, Anne Marie O’Neill is now head of operations and will be responsible for reviewing working practices are streamlined and efficient, as well as HR and supporting customer satisfaction.

O’Neill brings four years of experience from various companies including Coca-Cola, Tesco and Jaguar Land Rover.
 
Further supporting Cube3’s operations, is Janine Copues joins as the new finance manager. With more than eight years’ experience, she will be responsible various aspects of finance including payments, invoicing and payroll.

LANCASHIRE law firm Harrison Drury has appointed Duncan Rawlinson as a director to head up its residential conveyancing team.
 
Rawlinson joins Harrison Drury after six years as a partner and head of residential conveyancing at Linder Myers solicitors, based at its Lytham office.
 
Rawlinson has a number of specialisms within conveyancing, including property transactions for high-net-worth individuals, major relocation projects and cross-border transactions between England, Scotland and Ireland.

He is recognised as a leading provider of legal services by a number of major international relocation companies and often advises senior management and senior employees of companies that relocate business operations to other areas of the UK.

Rawlinson, who will be based at the company’s Garstang office, said: “It feels good to be part of the Harrison Drury family. HOUSING and development consultancy Project Development Workshop has appointed a new project manager to its Warrington team.

With 12 years’ experience in the housing industry from roles in a range of organisations including housing associations, local authorities and as a consultant in the private residential sector, Adam Manning brings a wealth of knowledge to his position at PDW.

In his new role, Manning will be responsible for delivering housing development schemes of all tenures for a range of housing clients throughout the UK. He will also work with key stakeholders to identify new development opportunities.

Before joining PDW, Manning was a senior project manager at Catalyst Housing in central London for over two years.

He said: “I have recently relocated to the North West after working for over a decade in the residential development sector in London and the South East. During my career to date, I have built a comprehensive understanding of the residential development process and in particular affordable housing delivery and regeneration.

“I am eager to apply my extensive housing development and project management skills to a new setting and looking forward to the new challenges that lay ahead.”

B2B inbound marketing agency Axon Garside has welcomed tech copywriter Duncan Fenn to its new Manchester office.

Fenn, who will focus on the delivery of compelling and authoritative content to the company’s tech sector clients.

The new hire is Axon Garside’s first since it relocated from rural Cheshire to Manchester’s Northern Quarter at the start of 2016 – a move it undertook to both grow the business and better service the growing demand for inbound marketing among tech companies across the UK.

Previously a tech specialist for content marketing agency Axonn Media, Fenn is an experienced content writer and strategist whose past clients have included Microsoft, Aspect Software and Tieto, as well as a range of other companies in the cloud, managed services and security sectors.

MANCHESTER-based social media marketing agency Social Chain has opened its first overseas office in Berlin to begin its expansion into the European market.

New hire Matthias Schmid will oversee operations in Berlin in the role of managing director.

He will initially focus on business development and strategy to penetrate Germany and German speaking markets including Austria and Switzerland, being tasked with building a strong and dynamic team.

Social Chain has recently received an investment of $2 million from Georg Kofler, former chief executive of German TV broadcasters ProSieben and Premiere (now Sky Deutschland). Kofler has built a media empire in Berlin with Def Media and talent management company NVC, giving Social Chain full access to their talent portfolio and assisting them with the move into Germany.

Steven Bartlett, co-founder and chief executive of Social Chain said: “Matthias’s considerable experience in video and social media marketing, teamed with his international understanding across European markets attracted us to working together.

“Offering a new challenge outside of the UK, Berlin will be the first step of Social Chain’s international expansion.”
