Your top 10 reads this week – Victoria development, Living Ventures, police station redevelopment and more…

THE unveiling of the plans for a £185m mixed-use development near Victoria train station in Manchester won out as the best read story this week.

You all wanted to see what urban regeneration specialist Muse Developments and Network Rail are planning for the 2.5-acre site on Corporation Street – currently a surface level car park.

As you’d expect the chance to find out about Living Venture’s latest addition to its portfolio was also popular – the company has taken the site where Grill on the Edge is currently situated in Alderley Edge. It will close its doors on Tuesday (May 31) and reopen as the Alchemist later this summer.

Coming in third placed was the news that the derelict former Salford Police Station is to be converted into 130 homes.

The £26m plan is the brainchild of 26-year-old former Salford University student Maros Kravec, a native of Slovakia, who admired the building on Salford Crescent when studying at the institution opposite.
