Healthcare specialist moves in to Sci-Tech Daresbury

HEALTHCARE pioneer the North West Coast Strategic Clinical Networks (SCN) has chosen Sci-Tech Daresbury in Cheshire as the new base for the company’s main headquarters.

The organisation’s 25 staff have taken up residence in offices at Vanguard House, co-locating with NHS colleagues at the North West Coast Academic Health Science Network (NWC AHSN).

Hosted by NHS England, the networks provide in-depth, high quality clinical leadership, advice and support to improve and innovate health services and patient outcomes around mental health, dementia, cancer, cardiovascular disease, maternity, children and young people, palliative and end of life care.

Vanguard House is a 36,000sq ft facility which provides flexible office, laboratory and workshop space for high-tech businesses from across the country.

As one of the UK Enterprise Zones, Vanguard House represents a key facility in the internationally recognised Sci-Tech Daresbury site.

Jan Vaughan, associate director at the North West Coast SCN said: “As strategic drivers of improvement and change in healthcare across Cheshire, Merseyside, Lancashire and South Cumbria, we share a common purpose with the North West Coast AHSN and already work closely with them on high-level initiatives to improve patient care.

“The move into the same building brings great benefits for both organisations, joint initiatives and access to the wider community of cutting-edge science and innovation at Sci-Tech Daresbury. We are looking forward to continuing our work to invest in the health of future generations, improving outcomes for patients and their families.”

Jayne Furnival, group property director at Langtree, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the North West Coast SCN to Sci-Tech Daresbury. Vanguard House is a perfect fit for the business and offers a first class working environment in which the company will thrive.

“Vanguard House is an important part of Sci-Tech Daresbury’s private-public sector joint venture, to develop an epicentre for business, research and innovation. The move will continue to strengthen the companies close working relationship with these key organisations driving innovation into the NHS and create links with other tech-based businesses, research organisations and industrial partners already based at Sci-Tech Daresbury.”

The North West Coast SCN also has offices in Preston, accommodating members of staff who cover Lancashire and South Cumbria.
