Accountancy firm to move to One St Peters Square

ACCOUNTANCY firm Mazars is to move into new offices at No.1 St Peter’s Square, in Manchester city centre, from December 2016.

The firm, which has more than 90 staff and nine partners in its Manchester office, has taken the full first floor – around 12,000 sq ft –  in the new development.

At the same time Peter Terry has been named as managing partner of the Manchester office.

Terry, who joined Mazars six years ago to head up the corporate finance team, specialises in advising privately-owned businesses especially those with international operations or aspirations.

He told TheBusinessDesk: “We have ambitious plans for the North West and Manchester and I am delighted to be leading the team on that.

“I’ve worked in the Manchester market for the last 20 years think this city has great potential and I want to make sure that Mazars is part of that.

“The move fits with our ambitions and plans to grow. It is the right time for us. The quality of our client base is improving and it is right to have the office space to match.”

He added: “The redevelopment of St Peter’s Square, Manchester Town Hall, Library Walk and the Central Library makes our new home an enviable place to do business and we are proud to be part of it.”

Ian Wrightson, Mazars northern region managing partner said: “We have built up an excellent team across all service lines in Manchester over the last few years, one we are very proud of. This move to 1 St Peter’s Square and the promotion of Pete to Manchester managing partner is the next phase of our development where we have seen double digit income growth in the current financial year.”
