Work wear specialist gets six-figure financing boost

A MANCHESTER workwear firm that recently move to new premises is planning a significant expansion after securing a six-figure funding package.

Wardwear, which is owned and operated by twin brothers Jason and Scott Ward, supplies safety clothing and workwear, safety tools and first aid equipment.

The family business recently upgraded its premises from a unit on an industrial estate in Radcliffe, near Bury, Greater Manchester, to a two-storey building in Bury.

It will include a retail showroom to facilitate walk-in business for the first time, following the finance agreement with the Yorkshire Bank.

The deal was delivered by Paul Williams, relationship manager in Yorkshire Bank’s Bolton Business and private banking centre.

While the purchase of the premises was self-funded, the firm has received a six figure funding package to assist its growth plans at the new site.

Wardwear aims to increase turnover by 50% over the next year by expanding its range of stock and growing sales.

The business which is a new customer of Yorkshire Bank is among Bury FC’s sponsors. The company supplies the club’s safety workwear and high visibility clothing.

Jason Ward said: “When seeking a funding partner to help us maximise our new location and expand the company, we were impressed by the lengths that Paul and his team went to really understand our business and provide the right mix of facilities to suit our needs.

“As a new business, managing cash flow can be a challenge but our new funding package will enable us to keep on top of our finances while assisting our growth aspirations.

“We look forward to developing a strong banking relationship with the knowledgeable team at Yorkshire Bank.”

Sean Williams, head of Yorkshire Bank’s Manchester Business and Private Banking Centre, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Wardwear and look forward to working in partnership with Jason and Scott. Our in-depth experience of growing businesses has enabled us to develop a wide range of initiatives to support ambitious SMEs such as Wardwear.”
