From Merc showroom to veterinary practice

BILFINGER GVA has advised on the acquisition of the former Mercedes Benz dealership  in Whitefield, Greater Manchester, for Vets Now.

The national veterinary practice will take over the dealership on Bury Old Road, which will be transformed into a 24-hour, out-of-hours and referral emergency animal hospital.

A sub-lease of 15 years, with a break at 10 years, has been agreed and the rental is set at £130,677 per annum.

Hayley Knight from Bilfinger GVA’s Manchester planning team acted in facilitating a change of use from the existing motor trade to a Sui Generis use. The application was supported by the local community.

Ruth Leighton, associate director at Bilfinger GVA, made the acquisition on behalf of Vets Now.

Leighton said: “This is a key acquisition for Vets Now.  We are delighted to be working in partnership with Vets Now to roll out a number of clinics across the country.
“The Whitefield site suits their needs ideally because it is well connected via main transport routes and is easily accessible to obtain emergency animal care.”
