Seneca bounces into trampoline parks

TRAMPOLINE park operator Jump Xtreme has secured a significant seven figure equity investment.

The investment by investment manager Seneca Partners will enable Jump Xtreme to accelerate its schedule of new park openings across the UK, ensuring it stays ahead of the game in the high growth leisure sector.

Jump Xtreme launched its first venue in Bolton, back in March. The £1.5m site at Bolton’s Trinity Retail Park is thought to be amongst the largest trampolining parks in the UK.

It has plans to open eight parks over the next 12 months, four of which will have opened their doors by the end of 2016, with new parks planned in Altrincham and Chester.

It has established its brand within the sector, with differentiators being the deployment of the latest trampolining technology, high quality coffee shops providing a wide range of food and drinks for all ages, and an offer that appeals to a number of market segments with tailored children’s party packages, corporate team building activities, fitness classes and teen club nights.

Cliff Nicholls, managing director of Jump Xtreme said: “ The initial investment secured, together with ongoing access to debt finance, will enable us to accelerate our expansion pace and provides increased flexibility in being able to consider both freehold and leasehold site opportunities as they become identified.”

Tim Murphy of Seneca Partners said: “We have been looking for some time for the right opportunity to get involved in the burgeoning trampoline park sector, a key growth segment within the buoyant leisure market.

“We view it as offering excellent potential for significant growth and investment returns for our investors, and in Jump Xtreme believe we have aligned ourselves with a leading, professional operator who will be one of the key shapers of this market sector moving forward.”

Modern indoor trampoline parks began to appear in the US 10 years ago, where the market continues deliver strong growth. The market in the UK saw its first entrant two years ago, and has developed rapidly with some 80 parks now open across the UK.
