People on the move: Want That Trend; CBRE; Marsh; JAM; Myerson

ONLINE fashion brand Want That Trend has invested in its team with two new hires following a phenomenal 12 months in business with first year results totalling £7m.

Wood, a former social media coordinator and freelance designer at Catwalk Yourself, further underpins the brand’s fashion credentials, with extensive knowledge and in-depth experience in trends and social media marketing. Her new role will support Want That Trend’s business strategy throughout its expansion.

Jewell, former E-Commerce Manager for Aftershock London, will also be responsible for the brand’s social media platforms of which there is more than 1.2 million fans.

The pair will be working together to further grow the platforms and brand identity, which has utilised the rise of the nation’s love for selfies.

Want That Trend founder Victoria Molyneux said: “We are passionate about adding value to our team and both appointments bring a range of knowledge and proven skills to help make the brand the best it can be.

CBRE’s Manchester office has appointed Ross McDyre as a senior consultant within its planning and development team as the division undergoes a period of continued growth.

McDyre joins CBRE from Altus Group Realty Tax Consulting in Vancouver, Canada, where he worked as a managing consultant undertaking annual valuations of a broad portfolio of commercial properties.

In his new role at CBRE, he will work on a number of schemes and development opportunities including strategic sites in Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

McDyre joins the team following the recent appointment of Fiona Flint as senior planner and a series of senior promotions as the team continues to strengthen its position in the North West.

Headed up by senior director Iain Jenkinson, in addition to Ross and Fiona, the team includes directors Chris Argent and Harry Bolton, associate director Emma Warren, senior planner Edward Harvey and graduates, Robin Jones, Elsa Dureaux, and Michael Conroy.

MARSH, a global insurance broker and risk adviser and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies Inc has announced the appointment of Chris Milnes as head of the firm’s Carlisle and Newcastle offices.

Milnes joins Marsh from Aon in Dubai where he led the corporate sales team and was responsible for new business development across the Middle East region.
 
Originally from the North East, Milnes has more than 10 years’ industry experience, gained in both the UK and the Middle East.

Milnes will be responsible for managing and developing the firm’s middle market and small and medium-sized client base across Cumbria and the North East. He reports to Andrew Wilton, managing director, UK North & Midlands region.

SALE-based JAM Recruitment has recently appointed a new head of advanced engineering and manufacturing to lead its team of expert consultants.

Andrew Crook joined JAM as a graduate in 2010, and over the last six years has been working to recruit high-end technical specialists into engineering and manufacturing organisations.

COMMERCIAL law firm, Myerson, based in Altrincham, Greater Manchester has announced that Mark Gillies has joined the firm as a partner in its commercial property department.

Gillies joins Myerson from national firm Laytons, where was head of property in the Manchester office for more than eight years, specialising in property finance and secured lending. He has considerable expertise in advising on commercial property acquisitions and disposals.

The arrival of Gillies adds further strength and experience to the existing team at Myerson headed by Partner, Richard Lloyd.

Over the past 12 months, the firm’s commercial property team has been involved in a number of high profile property deals including advising Mosley Street Ventures in relation to No 2 St Peter’s Square, one of the most high profile developments in Manchester and advising Fortis Developments on the purchase and subsequent sale of a substantial residential development scheme in Manchester’s Green Quarter.
