Revenue dips to £60m for polymer specialist

YEAR-on-year third-quarter revenue for Lancashire-based polymer specialist Victrex has fallen 6% to £60m (Q3 2015 £64.6m).

However, the Thornton Cleveleyscompany said its performance was in line with its expectations for Q3.

“Our core business remains robust, with growth in aerospace and automotive and a steadier performance in oil and gas,” a statement said.

“Our medical business was in line with the prior year period.”

The group’s overall performance in the quarter was offset by limited volumes in the large consumer electronics order, compared to a strong Q3 in 2015.

“We remain on track for a second half improvement and are comfortable with current expectations for the full year,” the statement said.
