New restaurant bar for island retreat

SILVER Bay Holiday Village on Anglesey has unveiled a stunning new restaurant, bar and lounge facility marking the final phase of a two-year multi-million pound upgrade.

The Deck House, so called because of the stunning views afforded from the panoramic windows and decking beyond, includes a complete refurbishment of the former farmhouse dwelling, together with a new adjoining restaurant, bar, and lounge.

General manager Jamie Hughes said: “The new Deck House encapsulates everything that Silver Bay is about. It’s a place where everyone can come together, relax and have a great time whilst taking in the wonderful views we have here at Silver Bay.

“The Deck House is going to be a place where many happy Silver Bay memories are made for many years to come.”

Its new chefs have crafted a contemporary restaurant menu taking fresh, carefully selected, seasonal ingredients to create a delicious and memorable dining experience.

The company claims new menu offers a true flavour of Anglesey including locally sourced, award-winning meats and delicious fish dishes, as well as specially selected produce, including breads from local artisan bakers and award-winning Anglesey ice cream.

As one of the key employers on Anglesey, team numbers at Silver Bay have doubled in recent years. The holiday park now employs 55 people from the local area, whilst also supporting over 20 local businesses and contractors.

Silver Bay has been owned for nearly 40 years by the cider-making Bulmer family.
Silver Bay director Nick Bulmer had the following to say:

“We are very proud of the way that Silver Bay continues to go from strength to strength. The Deck House makes Silver Bay the premier choice for a holiday home in north Wales whilst retaining the family ethos and values that are so important to us.

“This recent investment also underlines our continued commitment to tourism in Anglesey and north Wales as a whole.”

Together with The Deck House, other new facilities at Silver Bay include The Spa, Silver Bay’s new leisure complex, opening last year at a cost of £1.6m.

As well as this, a new lodge development known as Headland Rise is Silver Bay’s latest luxury lodge offering, so called because of its magnificent sea views set against the backdrop of the Snowdonia mountain range and Lleyn Peninsula to the South.
