Construction of £6m car sales facility begins

WARRINGTON-based business Caddick Construction has begun a £6m contract to design and build a new car dealership for The Car People in the town.

Caddick has started on site with a 33-week programme, due for completion in April 2017.

The dealership on Calver Park Road will be The Car People’s largest facility to date, with 1,000 cars on display and a total capacity of 1,700 vehicles.

It will house a showroom, workshop, valet bay, office and toilets. The project also includes all associated external works including car display areas, a compound and a servicing area, plus a new access road together with service infrastructure.

Caddick managing director Andrew Murray said: “Caddick Construction has an impressive portfolio when it comes to automotive construction.

“We’ve successfully delivered dealerships for a number of high profile car companies including BMW and Mini, Vauxhall, SKODA and SEAT and we’re currently on site with a Jaguar Landrover scheme Leeds.”

Caddick Construction and Caddick Civil Engineering are the operational arms of Caddick Group which has a turnover of £90m and employs 500 people.
