Nutrition firm to supply Liverpool FC
EAST Lancashire-based Science in Sport is to become the official sports nutrition supplier to Liverpool Football Club for the 2016/17 season.
The AIM-listed Nelson company, which develops, manufactures and markets sports nutrition products for professional athletes and sports enthusiasts, will work with Liverpool FC to create bespoke nutrition plans to fuel the LFC squads for training, match day and recovery.
Nutrition plans will be tailored for each player across Liverpool FC’s First Team, Academy and Ladies teams and will include a wide range of SiS products, from its SiS GO Isotonic Energy Gels to the SiS Protein range.
Stephen Moon, chief executive of SiS, said: “I am delighted that we will be partnering with Liverpool FC this season – not only as their official sports nutrition partner but also working with them on developing and testing a number of innovative products that we have in our launch pipeline. Earlier this month the company, which has worked with elite professional cycling teams including Team Sky and Team WIGGINS, became the official sports nutrition supplier to USA Cycling, the governing body for all disciplines of competitive cycling in the US.
The agreement, which runs to the end of 2017, follows SiS’ recent expansion into the US and will see SiS supply bag drops and stock neutral feed stations for all US National Championship events with a comprehensive range of lab-tested SiS sports nutrition products, including GO Hydro tablets and SiS’ world-first isotonic GO Gels.
