People on the move: Carter Law; Hill Dickinson; Addleshaw Goddard; PwC; Miller Homes

MANCHESTER-based Carter Law has appointed its firm PR and marketing executive, Alana Mustill.

Mustill brings with her over two years’ experience in PR & digital marketing from across different industries including agency and fashion.
 
She completed her undergraduate degree in fashion communication and promotion at The University of Huddersfield in 2014.

Upon graduating Mustill joined The Manchester Fashion Network as the PR and events assistant, which led to her creating her own freelance PR and digital marketing business, Tropical PR.
 
Whilst running her own business, Alana was also the PR and social media assistant for the e-commerce fashion brand NaaNaa.

At Tropical PR, Alana helped a variety of clients gain outreach for their new, small businesses using digital marketing strategies and PR campaigns.

The clients Alana worked with varied from illustration artists, PR agencies and videographers to name a few. Alana has a proven record of successful outreach for companies resulting in social follower growth, brand awareness and increased sales.

LAW firm Hill Dickinson has announced a series of key property team appointments to its Manchester office bringing the total headcount across the North West to 71.

It follows a particularly successful year for the property team which has seen a 28% growth in turnover in the last 12 months and a move from tier 4 to tier 3 in Legal 500 rankings.

Respected property lawyer Darren Hamer has joined as a partner from DWF following the recent arrival of senior associate David Herbert who joined from Pinsent Masons.

Hamer will be working with investors dealing with all their requirements across their real estate portfolios including sales and purchases, lettings and provision of advice on other management issues.
 
His role will be helping to develop the team’s strong property occupier practice.

The team has also welcomed Alistair Wallworth and Awais Allam as associates and Jon Pearson- Basudev who runs the newly created due diligence and post-completion teams.
 
Aisha Goulbourne, Ciaran Rafferty and Laura Carroll have also been appointed to the due diligence, post completion and property finance teams as paralegals bringing the total count in Manchester to 18 with 53 people servicing the Liverpool property team.

ADDLESHAW Goddard has announced the promotion 11 of its lawyers in its Manchester office.
 
The firm has promoted one to legal director and a further nine to managing associate. These promotions are effective from September 1 2016 and are as follows.
 
Rebecca Moore, from the commercial team, has been promoted to legal director. Those promoted to managing associate are as follows: Victoria Pool, Alex Kendall and Lee Hughes from Litigation; George Danczak, Samantha Hulme and Michael Rainey from corporate & commercial; Susan Bennett and Rhian Davies from real estate; Karen D’Souza from finance and Kerry Westland from the transactional service team (TST).

PROFESSIONAL services company PwC has appointed Lee Hillyard as a director in its capital projects and infrastructure practice.

Hillyard will lead and develop a regional team based out of Manchester to focus on the Northern Powerhouse and regional clients within the capital projects and infrastructure sector.  

With experience in contracting, consulting and client-side roles, Hillyard brings practical application, experience and knowledge of operating in the field of programme management at assurance, delivery, and strategy levels.

During his career, he has established, run and assured successful programme management and controls standards, systems and frameworks on some of the world’s largest programmes across the nuclear, defence, aviation, pharmaceutical, sports, and water and rail industries.

Having recently led, one of the largest and complex projects delivered by a Public Sector body in the UK Nuclear Sector, Lee brings hands on experience to current and future challenges being faced by clients.

HOUSEBUILDER Miller Homes, which is enjoying an unprecedented sales rate in 2016, has invested in its marketing team ahead of the opening of several new developments this year and early 2017.

Chris Carlin, 33, assumes the role of area marketing manager for theNorth of England and will work with sales teams to deliver marketing strategies to support its ‘Miller Difference’ customer service charter.

Carlin will be based from the company’s North West offices in Newton-le-Willows.

“We welcome Chris to the team and look forward to the knowledge and support that he will bring ahead of this exciting period,” said Steve McElroy sales director for Miller Homes in the North of England.

“Marketing is a critical part of any business plan and this is always an area that we invest in to ensure customers are aware of exactly what we do and how we can help them at an important time in their lives.”

Carlin brings both marketing and housebuilding experience to the role having held positions in diverse companies across the country before joining the five-star housebuilder at an exciting time as several developments conclude and new ones open.

Miller Homes currently has 12 developments across the North West region and will increase its sites by a further three before the end of the year bringing a wealth and variety of homes in key locations and communities.
