Tenth Oxjam music weekender to launch in Chorlton

OXJAM Manchester Takeover will take place tonight (Friday, October 30) at Dulcimer Bar, Chorlton, to kick off a weekend for music lovers across the region and launch the annual Oxjam festival.

In its 10th year, the music extravaganza will host DJs and bands at six different venues.

The other venues include Oddest Bar, Money Cheek’s, The Jam Inn, Cooper Chorlton and St. Clement’s Church.

At past events, Fatboy Slim, Jarvis Cocker and Hot Chip, among many others, have joined together for one common cause- to raise money for Oxfam and fight poverty across the world.

This Manchester event has been sponsored by Big Fish Rentals, Smart Bags, ShinDigger Brewing Co. and Rock Over Climbing.

More than 1.3 million people have attended an Oxjam event since they launched in 2006, and it has raised £2.8million for Oxfam during that time.

Oxjam hosted a special climbing event earlier this month at Rockover Climbing Bouldering Centre along with a pub quiz at Twenty Twenty Two.
