A PRESTON-based accountancy firm has appointed a new manager.

Rotherham Taylor has promoted Chloe Greenbank to the role from staff accountant.

She joined the firm in 2010 as a Trainee Accountant, after graduating from the University of Manchester with a degree in Economics and Social Sciences, specialising in accountancy.

Greenbank works with a wide range of clients, including companies of all sizes in a variety of sectors as well as private individuals.

Her day-to-day work includes statutory accounts, management accounts, tax, audit and VAT. She also has an interest in charity accounts and solicitors’ accounts rules, both of which are subject to additional regulations.

She said: “Rotherham Taylor Limited is a great place to work and I am grateful for all the support I have received over the last six years.

THE Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel is welcoming a new general manager and deputy general manager to oversee another productive era for the landmark property.

Peter Hill, who joins the historic 148-bedroom former warehouse from Holiday Inn, will be overseeing operations as general manager while his deputy, Fabio Leoni, will be using his decade of experience to support the running of the property, with a focus on people and product.
   
The duo will be responsible all aspects of operations at the city centre destination and say they hope to introduce a new generation of travellers to the global hotel brand.
A highly experienced manager, Hill has gained hospitality expertise from across the globe while working for renowned destinations and hotel groups including Disney World Florida, Bass Hotels and Holiday Inn.
 
Leoni will also be bringing a wealth of expertise to the team, with previous managerial roles at luxury hotels in London and Manchester.
 
Leoni said: “The Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert is a very well known property in the area and I’m very much looking forward to working with such a varied team.
“We are in a great location, with Spinningfields on our doorstep and we want to help guests discover more about this side of the city.”

Hill will be using his skills and knowledge of the industry to further enhance the guest experience and ensure customer satisfaction.

“I’m confident Fabio and I will make an excellent team, ensuring we deliver the best possible experience for our guests and take care of every aspect of their stay.”

FIVE new apprentices have joined building contractor FK Group’s Apprentice Academy.

They are Liam Pritchard, James Garside, Jordan Davis, Jason Chapman and Jack Ledbetter.

The company, with head offices in Altrincham, Greater Manchester launched its dedicated Apprentice Academy in 2015.

The five apprentices from the first year’s intake now have roles within the business.
 They are involved in various departments including procurement, design, estimating, quantity surveying and on site at key projects including Royal Liverpool Hospital. They are all continuing their learning in their chosen disciplines.  

The FK Apprentice Academy is a two-year technical apprenticeship programme. The company teamed up with The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) to develop the programme where participants also study for a Level 3 NVQ and gain an understanding of the variety of roles the industry can offer. The apprentices have four days office or site based with FK Group and one day at a local college.

RECRUITMENT company Simpson Judge has recently made four key hires to its head office on Preston docks.

Emma Wallbank and Angela Crossan will be covering transactional finance recruitment with Wallbank focusing on Lancashire and the Fylde Coast, and Crossan concentrating on Liverpool and Merseyside.

Both have a number of years’ recruitment experience and will really complement the existing offering across senior finance and executive appointments.

Rachel Robertson and Michael Griffin will add to the accountancy practice division.
Robertson will have a focus on the North West and Yorkshire while Griffin will focus his time on the Manchester market.

This grows the team at Simpson Judge to 10 with a number of other appointments imminent.

NORTH West accountancy and advisory firm CLB Coopers, has made a senior addition to its tax team with the appointment of Amanda Sayle who joins as director.

Sayle, who joins the firm with more than 12 years’ experience in corporate taxation, will advise the firm’s client base of entrepreneurs and owner-managers across the North West region.

She said: “I am thrilled to join such a vibrant and respected firm and am looking forward to contributing to its continuing successs.”

ENA Shaw Contract – the UK’s largest contract manufacturer of made-to-measure curtains, blinds and soft furnishings – has boosted its team with a new appointment to reflect the company’s continued growth.

The St Helens, Merseyside-based business has recruited a new business development manager, Lynne Twissell, as it looks to strengthen its offering within the interiors and soft furnishings market.

It is hoped that Twissell will bring added expertise and flair to the team when selecting and fitting custom furnishings across Ena Shaw Contract’s wide-ranging client base.

As part of her role, she will work closely with customers across the hospitality, housing and public sectors, offering advice on interiors and installation.

She has previous experience at Dixon-Turner and Burmatex, bringing a wealth of knowledge of furnishings and interior fit-outs, with a particular specialism in hotels and hospitality – one of Ena Shaw Contract’s key sectors.

Twissell said: “Over the past decade working in the industry, I’ve supported projects within a wide range of sectors, from hospitality and residential to the private sector, so a move to Ena Shaw Contract felt like a natural progression for me.

“I have a real passion for interiors and design and I am thrilled to have already started working on exciting projects with healthcare providers and prestige hotel groups, such as Doubletree Hilton. I’m excited about helping to take Ena Shaw Contract to the next level.”
