North West accountancy firms in merger

NORTH-west chartered accountants and business advisers Cowgill Holloway have merged with Bolton-based Warings Business Advisers.

The merger creates a combined group with 15 partners and sees Warings’ senior partner Patrick Lydon and tax partner Helen Chambers appointed partners of Cowgill Holloway.

Ray Darby and Nicola Roby become directors of CHW Small Business Accounting – a soon-to-be launched specialised small business centre based at Warings’ offices.

The establishment of CHW Small Business Accounting sees Warings’ team and Cowgill Holloway’s small business team combine to provide accounting solutions around the region, providing bookkeeping, accounting, management information and payroll services.

Lydo said: “The deal represents long-term security for the clients and staff of Warings and gives us access to the wider range of services available at Cowgill Holloway.”

Cowgill Holloway’s managing partner Paul Stansfield added: “We are delighted to bring a quality business like Warings into the Cowgill Holloway Group. The firm’s history and position in the market place represents a significant boost to our business and strengthens our proposition to our growing client base.”
