Real estate firm lands deal to handle entire estate of Co-operative Bank

THE Manchester office of real estate company Cushman & Wakefield is to manage Co-operative Bank’s entire property portfolio of 357 buildings across the UK.

The three-year contract – with an option to extend for a further two years – follows the bank’s successful separation from the Co-operative Group.

It includes estate management, lease advisory, rating, valuation, project and building consultancy, acquisitions and disposals.

Gino D’Anna, Cushman & Wakefield partner in charge of the account, said: “This is a significant instruction for Cushman & Wakefield and is a great example of the strength of our new combined business not only in the retail sector but the strength of our regional teams across all of our skill lines.”

The deal has allowed the company to continue its growth and recruitment with three new appointments with the establishment of a global occupier services  team in Manchester with Izak Loggenberg joining as a senior surveyor, Rvmeet Sokhi as a surveyor and Suzanne Mottram as a surveying technician.

Darren Nelson-Hall, the Co-operative Bank’s asset manager, said: “Cushman and Wakefield are a great firm to partner with, their desire to succeed was evident in both their tender and their performance since appointment, and I have no doubt that they will assist the Bank in meeting its strategic aims in line with our core principles.”
