City barristers celebrate Legal 500 regional chambers award

Legal ruling

MANCHESTER barristers set Kings Chambers has won The Legal 500 2017 award for Regional Chambers of the Year.

The Legal 500 is widely regarded as the world’s biggest legal referral guide and is in its 29th year of running. It is an independent guide which awards and recommends law firms, business leaders, in-house lawyers, chambers, silks and business leaders based purely on merit.

Kings Chambers won the accolade after a series of 70,000 interviews were carried out to identify the most expert practitioners and firms across the legal sector.

The past year has seen a succession of distinguished members joining Kings Chambers and the set as a whole being ranked as one of the country’s leading sets by Chambers UK (2016).

Lesley Anderson QC, a member of Kings Chambers, was also nominated for Regional Silk of the Year in The Legal 500 2017 awards.

Dr Nicholas Braslavsky QC, head of chambers at Kings Chambers said: “We’re delighted to have won The Legal 500 UK Chambers of the Year 2017 award. It’s particularly satisfying that the work carried out by all members at Kings Chambers has been recognised by such a prestigious organisation.

“To be recognised by The Legal 500 is a significant accolade and its pleasing that a fellow member of Kings Chambers, Lesley Anderson QC was acknowledged for her excellence and quality client service.

“With our outstanding work and dedication to our clients, we hope we’ll be as successful in the next Legal 500 awards and nominations.”

Kings Chambers has chambers in Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham. They combine advisory work with litigation and advocacy services and are regularly involved in arbitration and mediation.

In the past year, Kings Chambers has become the first barristers set outside of London to launch a specialists costs mediation service, with six barristers from Kings Chambers’ cost team securing a key accreditation with Costs ADR to practice as costs mediators.
