People on the move: New CFO for On the Beach; Pinsent Masons appoints Livesey as national head of commercial; Director hire for specialist lender
ONLINE holiday retailer has announced that Wendy Parry will retire as its chief financial officer in mid-January.
She will be succeeded by Paul Meehan, currently director at Gala Coral Interactive (Gibraltar) Ltd, which is part of the newly merged Ladbrokes Coral Group.
The company said Parry’s retirement and Meehan’s appointment are the result of a carefully planned and thorough succession planning and recruitment exercise.
Meehan joined Gala Interactive as finance director in April 2012, as part of a new management team, re-launching an online gaming business in Gibraltar.
More recently, he was director responsible for the Interactive planning and integration aspects of the merger between Gala Coral Group Limited and Ladbrokes plc which was announced in June 2015 and completed in November 2016.
Parry joined On the Beach in April 2010 and has led the finance function since then, delivering the group’s successful IPO in September 2015.

SAMANTHA Livesey has been appointed national head of commercial for law firm Pinsent Masons.
Livesey joined Pinsent Masons as a partner in 2011, taking on head of the commercial team in Pinsent Masons’ Manchester office in 2012.
She has now been appointed national head of commercial leading a team of more than 25 lawyers.
Livesey specialises in commercial contracts, technology, digital and intellectual property. Her NW clients include The English Football League, Hilti, Magnesium Elektron and F2G.
She said: “I am delighted to take on this national role at such an exciting time for Pinsent Masons. We are establishing a real market leading position in our core sectors, continue to grow internationally and are renowned for our innovative service delivery as recognised last week when Pinsent Masons won Law Firm of the Year in the prestigious Legal Business Awards.”

A CORPORATE development director has been welcomed on board the commercial property team at specialist lender Together.
David Cunningham, who will work with clients across the North West, joins from Secure Trust Bank. Prior to this he spent 21 years at NatWest, where he specialised in real estate finance.
Cunningham said: “With experience spanning both the mainstream lending market and challenger banks, I’m excited to be entering the specialist lender arena. Together is very much at the forefront of this industry and it’s refreshing to see such an agile approach to lending, so I’m looking forward to working with clients across the North West to deliver the funding they need.”
Daniel Owen-Parr, national development director at Together, added: “David brings a wealth of experience to Together with his background in property finance, and is well established in the North West, having worked with clients in this region for over a decade. The appointment comes immediately after Together announced a new regional development director for Yorkshire, Barry Dillon, who joins from Santander Corporate, and also Mehwish Mirza who recently joined as business development manager.
