Accountancy firm celebrates ‘best ever year’

ACCOUNTANCY and business advisory firm Beever and Struthers is celebrating the best year in the firm’s 118-year history.

The firm, which has with 22 partners and 200 staff at offices in Manchester, Blackburn and London, achieved its highest turnover on record in 2016 with income totalling £11.8m, representing growth of more than 7%.

The growth on 2015 was entirely organic and not augmented by mergers or acquisitions.

In addition, for the fourth year in succession, Beever and Struthers gained a new client at a rate greater than one per working day.

Most new clients – approximately 70% of the total – appointed the firm following referrals from existing clients.

The firm claims its recent comprehensive rebrand reflected the integrity, values and specialist knowledge in sectors in which the practice has extensive experience.

They include social housing, charities, property and construction, manufacturing and engineering, professional and legal, innovation, communication and IT, freelancers, wholesale and retail, motor and transport, employment agencies, sports and leisure, insurance and financial, education and international.

Managing partner Phil Roberts said: “Our record results for 2016 are testimony to the efforts of all our hard-working and dedicated partners and staff who have a real desire to achieve better things on behalf of their clients. From our point of view this makes a very compelling story and one we look forward to repeating in 2017 and thereafter.”

Beever and Struthers also retains a controlling interest in The Company Books Ltd, a specialist practice based in the City of London providing outsourced accountancy and financial processes.
