White Lion roars back to life

A LICENSEE has welcomed back loyal regulars to the revamped village pub deep in the heart of Cheshire.

Darren Crawford has reopened the White Lion in Alvanley following significant joint investment by Stockport-based Robinsons Brewery in The Broad Oak Pub Company, headquartered in Aston-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

The pub, which was closed for three weeks, has been completely transformed internally with a rustic country style design featuring exposed timber beams, roaring fires and a stunning panelled bar.

“Whilst our last investment was around six years ago, we wanted to freshen the pub up a bit so it was really important that the refurbishment kept a real timeless Cheshire look whilst modernising throughout” explained Crawford. “The new look is a contemporary throwback to a warm, homely country pub that feels welcoming as soon as you step through the doors.”

Crawford said the pub is full of cosy pockets throughout with quiet areas to catch up with friends or enjoy a meal from the White Lion’s ample menu.

“Our menu is really perfect for every occasion,” said Crawford. “We’ve got plenty of classics to suit everyone’s taste and some more premium pub dishes for special occasions. We’ve always prided ourselves on the quality and value of our menu at The White Lion so we are always proud when we can share new dishes with our customers.”
