B&M signs 15-year lease for 30,000sq ft store

DISCOUNT giant B&M Bargains is set to open a store at Snipe Retail Park in Ashton-under-Lyne in Greater Manchester.

A deal has been struck between Aberdeen Asset Management, represented by real estate adviser Savills for a 15-year lease on the 30,000sq ft store at a rent of £14 per sq ft.

The unit is being completely refurbished before occupation by B&M, with works managed by Savills due to complete this month.

Snipe Retail Park offers 242,000 sq ft of retail space across 15 units which are let to occupiers including B&Q, Next, Dunelm, Wren Kitchens, Currys and Argos.  It is located five miles east of Manchester city centre in Ashton-under-Lyne.

Charlie Greenhalgh, out of town retail director at Savills, said: “We are pleased to have secured this deal which will see B&M open a major new store early next year, further enhancing Snipe Retail Park’s strong line up of national retailers.”

Savills also acted for Aberdeen in securing planning permission for the refurbishment. B&M was represented by Burns Property.
