Alderley Park invests £100K in conference technology

Martin Mochan, head of conferencing at Alderley Park,on how technology is shaping the future of events.

THERE’S no doubt that technology is, and will continue to, play an increasing role in the conferencing, events and hospitality sector.

At Alderley Park we have got great assets, but we also recognise that it’s a competitive market place and we must continue to move with the times and adapt to changing customer requirements. For instance, gone are the days that free and fast WiFi was seen as a luxury – now it’s expected.

We are pleased to be investing more than £100,000 in new state of the art AV equipment here at the Alderley Park Conference Centre, including 4k digital projection in the  auditorium. We’re also introducing digital signage, digital lectern solutions and mobile device charging to provide customers with greater flexibility and additional opportunities.

I see technology as an enabler. From a venue perspective, new developments in controllable LED lighting and “smart furniture” are increasing in popularity, whilst  conferencing and events have become incredibly immersive and interactive. Event apps for example, which allow feedback to be shared, provide venues and organisers with incredibly valuable information to ensure their events are delivering.

Looking ahead, I’m convinced the industry will continue to innovate and upgrade its offering to keep pace with trends in technology.
